Plant health care (PHC)
The definition of Plant Health Care is:
“To maintain or improve the landscape’s appearance, vitality and in the case of trees – safety, using the most cost-effective and environmentally sensitive practices and treatments available”.
What is Plant Health Care?
PHC involves monitoring, use of preventative treatments, and adopting a strong commitment to work closely with the tree owner. However, as with all living things, trees can face numerous issues that can have a negative effect on their health. Among these are:
- insect infestations,
- disease,
- weather-related issues (such as wind and ice damage)
- injuries caused by people.
How these issues affect a tree varies. For example, some issues can be mostly aesthetic and the tree will remain healthy for years although it will not have a healthy appearance. At the same time, other issues can cause the health of the tree to decline. Consequently, they can cause the tree to die without proper care.
Our Plant Health Care staff.
Alliance Tree Care Inc., a plant health care company Minnesota, can help you respond with a certified and highly experienced plant health care staff. To clarify, we help residential, municipal, and commercial clients identify, diagnose, and treat tree diseases and pest infestation.
- Tree disease diagnosis and treatment
- Tree insect and pest infestation identification and treatment
- Proper nutrient feedings and protective spraying
The Alliance Tree Care Inc. team exhausts every available and appropriate means to restore your trees to complete health. And, above all, keep them that way. Because we want to make sure your trees are happy and around for years to come.
We’ll come to your location at the start of our services for you including insect and disease management. This includes an assessment of the location’s trees and shrubs. After that, we will monitor them over time through the maintenance program. Certainly, we do this in-person to ensure the best results.
Plant health care; fertilization
Customized fertilization programs are designed for all of your trees and shrubs. This is done to help encourage healthy growth and to minimize the risk of tree illness or disease development.
Plant health care; disease control
Trees with existing disease or damage need specialized care. So a variety of solutions may be available to help remove the disease or prevent it from spreading. Therefore our tree health assessment is to help protect your property as a whole, which means creating a care plan for any type of disease present and following it through.
We attempt to make sure your trees and shrubs get the best care possible for survival. For more information please visit the University of Minnesota’s website regarding tree & plant diseases.
Plant health care; pest control
With a variety of pest control solutions available, we’ll work with you to ensure all pests present are removed safely and quickly and when necessary, we will help create a treatment plan for getting rid of any that are not beneficial to your landscape. As a result this ensures infestations are controlled properly.
One particular concern in Minnesota is the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) which is an invasive insect. To clarify, It targets our Green and White Ash trees and eats the inner bark of the tree. Consequently, it can severely damage the nutrient support system which will result in the death of the tree. If you think you may have an Ash tree that has EAB, please contact us immediately.
After that, we can work safely to identify and treat or dispose of the tree in a controlled manner. Furthermore there are many other pests that come and go during our wide range of seasons. For more information please visit the website of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
Plant Replacement
There are times when the removal of one or more trees and plants is necessary – especially when they put other trees or plants at risk or are likely to fall causing damage to your home. Our team can remove the tree(s) and then replace them to ensure the best possible outcome for you and your landscaping as a whole. We hand pick the trees we plant into your landscape. We guarantee our trees for one year, of course with with the watering techniques we teach you. They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, however we feel like if that time has passed, there really is no better time than now.
